Story
Andrea Eve Kessel has been creating hand-crafted jewelry for the past twenty-two years. Strikingly original, her work is informed by her travels, reflecting place, culture, and the natural world. Drawing on aspects of the environment that speak to her, she translates her experiences into wearable works of art.
Andrea combines age-old casting techniques and a Byzantine aesthetic with a modern edge to create unique pieces that are stylistically wholly her own. Ornate and intricate, her work combines rich stones such as diamonds, turquoise, rubies and garnet with 18-karat gold. Every piece is hand-cast from pendant to closure.
New to Andrea’s collection are her one-of-a-kind icon inspired pieces. They are cast in 18-karat gold and then enameled, with some pieces engraved and set with stones; each piece holds a story of its own. After studying iconography with a master of the craft, Andrea combined her love of painting, metallurgy, and storytelling to create pieces that go beyond adornment. These modern meaningful reliquaries provide the wearer remembrance and an intimate relationship to what they hold dear.
